‘Urban 2’ Receives the Ergonomic Design Special Award, Demonstrating Excellence in Technology, Design, and User Experience
Zigbang Wins Awards for All Submitted Models in Its First Entry, Showcasing Smart Home Hardware Excellence
Ergonomic Design Special Award: "A Door Lock Inspired by Human Movement"
Zigbang, a leading proptech company in Korea, announced that all of its AI door locks and lobby phone products submitted to the Good Design Awards have been recognized as award winners.
This achievement marks Zigbang’s first participation in a design award program, and winning awards for every submitted product is considered a rare accomplishment within the industry.
In particular, Zigbang's next-generation AI door lock, Urban 2, scheduled for launch early next year, received the Ergonomic Design Special Award, highlighting its seamless integration of technology, design, and user experience (UX).
Urban 2 stands out as the only door lock product this year to receive the Ergonomic Design Special Award.
The Good Design Awards evaluate products holistically, considering not only aesthetics but also functionality, safety, usability, and accessibility across real-life usage scenarios. The Ergonomic Design Award, in particular, is given to products that designs grounded in a deep understanding of human movement and behavior.
Unlike conventional door locks, Urban 2 adopts a pull-handle structure that naturally accommodates hand angles, force direction, and door-opening motions, and integrates fingerprint authentication into the act of gripping the handle, delivering an intuitive, uninterrupted user experience.
This reflects a broader evolution of door locks — from basic access devices to everyday security interfaces shaped by human behavior.
In addition, the Haven 1, Haven 2, and Alpha lobby phone models also received Bronze Awards in the Home System category.
Evaluated as an integrated product set, all models adopt a passwordless access system, enhancing both security and convenience in shared residential entrances.
This approach delivers a smart security experience that is accessible to everyone —including older adults and digitally vulnerable groups— while fundamentally addressing the information exposure issues commonly found in traditional door lock systems.
A Zigbang representative stated, "This recognition validates Zigbang's direction in designing user-centric access experiences by integrating technology, design, and security," adding, "We will continue to create smart home solutions that naturally fit into everyday life while enhancing both safety and convenience."
